Missing Roxy

So much for my blog-a-day. And I had such great intentions! Ah well, I'll get back to it soon enough.
Right now, the kids and I are visiting family and friends in Michigan. Ken was here with us for the weekend, but had to go back to work. The internet here is a little slower than ours at home, so I have been spending MUCH less time online than I normally do at home. (which isnt necessarily a bad thing!)
I have been practicing my sewing skills, and have been sucked into the Twilight book series. But most of all, I have just been hanging out with the kids and my mom (who is in town from Texas) and sister. Its been a somewhat relaxing week, although a rough one.
Monday we were devastated to find that my brother Adam's german shepherd Bo had been hit by a car. Bo is like Adam's best friend in the world, and he is going through a really hard time this week trying to process everything thats happened. Then yesterday we were heartbroken to hear that Roxy had been hit by the same car. A couple who had come up on the dogs after they were hit took Roxy with them (Bo had died on impact but Roxy was injured) to their farm to give her shelter and warmth. As luck would have it, the woman works in the veterinary medicine field and was able to treat Roxy the best she could. However, by the time they found us, Roxy had passed as well.
I am crushed. Roxy was the best dog you could imagine for a family with small children. She let the kids climb on her, ride her like a horse, pull at her ears, you name it. You could almost see her roll her eyes when they did it, but at the same time just loved them and the attention they gave her. We will miss her so much. RIP Roxy girl.
