Hot dogs and cheese

So.... my friend Liz was telling me about these bologna boats that they make every year in honor of her Grandma who has passed away. I wont spill the family recipe, but it did remind me of something that my mom often made as we were growing up... and "inspired" me to make them today for the kids for lunch.
Its pretty simple really.... you take a hot dog, slice it down the middle (but careful to not slice all the way through to the bottom of the hot dog, you need the cheese to stay put), put sliced cheese and onions if you like - I don't - in the "valley" of the hot dog and bake them until the cheese is totally melted.
The kids LOVED them! They are so easy to make, I think we might have to start having them once a week or something. Maybe they can take turns helping me make them... as long as I cut the hot dog, they should be able to put in the cheese. I think then they might like them even more!
