Ken had a few days off this week, and rather than spending them at home, Paul and Jacque were nice enough to let us "invade" their camper and entertain us for a few days!
We drove to Port Huron on Tuesday and stayed until Thursday, and it was just a wonderful break from being at home! Joey was especially excited to "go to Connor's house..." - he had been asking for months to go there! The kids had a great time playing with their cousins and Ken and I had a great time "playing" with other adults!
After dinner Tuesday, we had a fire on the beach and made smores, and then Wednesday, Ken and Paul took the boys and Tessa fishing. Later that evening we did "fireworks" (to the kids they were fireworks, to the adults they were a $10 pack of fountains... but we all enjoyed them just the same!) Then the rain hit and the kids snuggled up to watch videos and the 4 of us played card games. It was a great night despite the fact that we were all pooped!
Ken and I took all the kids ( minus Alex, she was at skating lessons) to the beach again yesterday. The water was freezing, but the sun was hot and Ken and I both have sunburns to show it. But we had a lot of fun with the kids in the water. Joey and Tessa both loved playing on the tubes and had so much fun together!
On our way out of town, the 10 of us went to the Olive Garden and had lunch. The food was great... I wish I could say the same about Joey, but at least we had our own private area at the restaurant so I dont think he bothered any other families. Just like we figured, he was sleeping before we hit the highway to head home.
It was a wonderful few days for us!!!! Just to get away from home and see a different surrounding was much needed and so appreciated! Thanks you guys!
